portrait meet dc coming to fairfax

Portrait Meet DC is coming to Old Town Fairfax on Sunday, June 22 from 3-6 p.m. Over 130 photographers and several models have already signed up to meet up in Old Town Fairfax to hone their photography skills. This event presents several opportunities for our Old Town businesses including:

- all businesses are invited to participate in the shoot by allowing photographers and models in the space. At the same time, businesses can choose not to participate, just let us know and we'll communicate it to participants. 

- restaurants/bars/coffee shops are welcome to set aside specific menu items/drinks for the models + photographers to capture while in your space. please let us know and we will share the info with the participants 

-Businesses can limit how many people are allowed in their respective establishments at a time, which we can share with photogs/add on a card. ie. Business A will only allow up to 6 people at a time.

- PMDC will encourage photogs to share their images with the businesses that they access. We will put out a disclaimer that any photographer who is not willing to share their images will not be permitted to access the business. We will create a sign up sheet for when photogs enter the establishment, they'll provide their email address, IG handle etc. Same for models. A way to keep track of who shot where and PMDC would be happy to reach out to them to get the establishments some of their content.

- we are looking for businesses that will permit photographers + models to use the restroom (especially models for changing clothes). if you want to opt IN to this please let us know. 

- we are also looking for a 'hospitality host' restaurant to serve as an informal home base for the core team of the event organizers. this would involve reserving a table/space for the team to sit and plug in chargers; participants using the restroom; and drink tickets for lemonade/soda/iced tea for the participants. Additional bonus for this business- they could also have a food/drink item to photograph etc. while the photographers are there.

Note, PMDC cannot guarantee photogs and models will access the businesses that sign up to participate as the crowd tends to move around/do their own thing. We may want to point that out in the outreach. If we were doing more of a curated, specific store shoot, we can control much better. But given this is part of our larger meetups, it's going to be a bit challenging to control where people go.
