Join us as Alfred plays jazz inspired by Korean culture from his latest album, Voice and Phenomenon, as well as a few surprises!

Alfred Yun is a Korean-American jazz pianist and composer. His music is influenced by his upbringing in both Korea and the United States. You can hear influences ranging from jazz, hip hop, and K-Pop to traditional Korean music in Alfred Yun’s compositions.

Alfred was honored to be chosen by the Music Center At Strathmore as an Artist-in-Residence for the 2023-2024 season. This includes featured concerts at Strathmore’s prestigious AMP club in January and participating in programs throughout the season.
 
In 2025, Alfred Yun released his album, Voice and Phenomenon, which investigates the different ways we use the voice — gibberish, games, poems, singing, spoken word, laughter, and more. The album invites the listener into an intimate account of these disparate voices and sounds. It is the most personal and revealing work of his career. Voice and Phenomenon was listed on Capital Bop's Top DC Jazz Albums of 2025.

This local, half-day retreat includes time for both experiences. First, gentle reiki relaxation and sound bathing allow us to consciously experience our own energetic nature, so we may open and absorb nature’s rich vitality. Next, periods of supportive, intentional silence empower us to discern a personal path of release into the calm and equanimity that will see us through winter.

Thoughtfully curated for all levels of experience, no previous knowledge is required or expected for these peaceful yet potent practices. We provide the practicalities (including yoga mats, props, a selection of teas, healthy snacks, and Marjorie’s famously delicious GF cookies!). You only need to bring your willingness to flow with the seasonal energy that abounds. After all, aren’t we all made of that same energy?

Enjoy a free guided walking tour through Old Town Fairfax. See the original Courthouse (built in 1800) where George and Martha Washington’s wills are stored. Explore sites of Civil War violence, espionage, and unlikely romance centered around that Rebel bandit, John S. Mosby. And discover local grandees like Ratcliffe, Farr, and Willard, whose legacies formed our City.

The tour starts at the front of the Historic Fairfax Courthouse (corner of Main St. and Chain Bridge Rd.)

Ratcliffe-Allison-Pozer House, a charming brick structure, is the city's oldest residence within what was the original six-block Town of Providence. The house was built in three phases: 1807, 1824 and 1927. The daily activities of some of its twelve owners and occupants are interpreted for visitors, illustrating commercial and domestic change along Main Street during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Sip, stroll and explore on this relaxed, social brewery walk. We will visit three of the area's local breweries, each just a short walk apart. making it easy and enjoyable for all fitness levels.
At each stop, guests can choose their own beer! One brewery stop will also include a shared appetizer, giving everyone a chance to refuel, settle in, and enjoy the social aspect of the tour.
We will have time to enjoy each brewery, to get to know the distinct vibe of each place that we visit.
Non-Drinkers are welcome to join the tour for the social experience. We will have NA drinks upon availability and of course the above-mentioned appetizer.
This tour is perfect for locals, visitors, couples, friends, families, singles, and anyone looking for an easygoing afternoon with great beer and good company.
The tour is two hours and includes four five-minute walks to the different locations please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Since the tour is mostly indoors, we will go on the tour in almost any weather but do reserve the right to cancel and reschedule if the weather is too severe.

Be advised, this tour will include cuss words because honestly some stories just require them. And yes we will discuss the infamous ever present co-stars, all the rats!

Sip, stroll and explore on this relaxed, social brewery walk. We will visit three of the area's local breweries, each just a short walk apart. making it easy and enjoyable for all fitness levels.
At each stop, guests can choose their own beer! One brewery stop will also include a shared appetizer, giving everyone a chance to refuel, settle in, and enjoy the social aspect of the tour.
We will have time to enjoy each brewery, to get to know the distinct vibe of each place that we visit.
Non-Drinkers are welcome to join the tour for the social experience. We will have NA drinks upon availability and of course the above-mentioned appetizer.
This tour is perfect for locals, visitors, couples, friends, families, singles, and anyone looking for an easygoing afternoon with great beer and good company.
The tour is two hours and includes four five-minute walks to the different locations please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Since the tour is mostly indoors, we will go on the tour in almost any weather but do reserve the right to cancel and reschedule if the weather is too severe.
We are looking forward to introducing you to the brewery side of Fairfax City!
