City of Fairfax 40th Annual Festival of Lights and Carols (Saturday, Dec. 6 Noon to 6 p.m., Old Town FFX Square)
Kick off the season with this beloved tradition featuring holiday market, live performances, s’mores stations, photos with Santa, and the official tree lighting on Old Town Square at 5:30 p.m. Don’t miss the Metropolitan Follies at 4:30 p.m. FUN for the whole family!

Tours Through Christmas Past (Saturdays: Dec. 6 & 13, Noon - 2 p.m.)
Come to the Ratcliffe-Allison-Pozer House at 10386 Main St. to learn how people celebrated Christmas in the past over more than 200 years. Crafts and activities will also be included in select rooms as you tour. FREE

A Christmas Kaleidoscope of Bronze - Handbell Concert (Saturday, Dec. 6, 8 -9:15 p.m., Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center)
